WAGS Special Interest Group
Victorian Interest Group

About the Group
The Victorian Group was Formed in May 1986. The group's first Co-Convenors were Lorna and the late Bill Bell. The Group was popular with WAGS members, reflecting the high proportion of forebears who had passed through Victoria prior to descendants settling in Western Australia. Elizabeth Rummins took over leadership of the group in September 1987, a position she held for 11 years.

In 1998 Tony Scott took over the helm until the end of 2001 when he relocated to Victoria.  Fred Grosvernor and Keith Fellowes took over as convenors in 2002.

The group celebrated its 20th Anniversary in May 2006 with new and long time members in attendence.

The group holds over 3000 Victorian BMD certificates fully indexed.   For enquiries and information contact Glenda Rowe  growe_2@yahoo.com

The group helps members and visitors research their interests in Victoria.with a growing wealth of material now available to family historians.

The group has contacts with the Genealogical Society of Victoria Inc, the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies Inc, the Port Phillip Pioneers' Group Inc and the 1850’s group, to broaden our knowledge of Victorian Genealogy and History. Persons with heritage in these areas are encouraged to join.
