TRACING SCOTTISH ANCESTORS

An all day workshop conducted by the Scottish Interest Group

Are you lucky enough to have Scottish ancestors?

Whether you are just beginning to trace them or need some ideas for further research, we will provide a smorgasbord of sources to be found locally, overseas and on the Internet.


Where: WAGS Unit 4, 5 & 6
When: 31st August 2008

Morning Session:
9am - Registration
9.30am-11.30am - Basic sources: BDM, census, parish records and wills.
11.30am-12.15pm - Tour of Scottish sources held in WAGS library.
Lunch break: 12.15pm-1pm NB: Bring your own lunch.

Afternoon Session:
1pm-3pm - Sources to put flesh on ancestral bones. Includes: various legal, occupational and residential records; local history sources and methods of locating all these.
3pm-3.30pm - Coffee and questions.
A handout will be included.

COST:
Full day: $30 members $35 non-members
Morning only: $20 members $25 non-members
Afternoon only: $10 members $15 non-members
All proceeds will purchase more Scottish resources for WAGS Library.

Bookings essential and at WAGS front desk only.   Bookings will not be taken on the day.
